OATS

Oats are one of the healthiest grains on earth and they are gluten free. Studies show that the health benefits of oats includes lower blood sugar levels and a reduced risk of heart disease. Oats are incredibly nutritious and it contains more proteins than most grains. Whole oats are also rich in antioxidants, they can lower cholesterol levels and protect LDL cholesterol from damage. Oats can also improve blood sugar control, these effects are mainly attributed to beta-glucan's ability to form a thick gel that delays emptying of the stomach and absorption of glucose into the blood.
